useful resource for residents and medical students both in Emergency Medicine and in other specialties. I'm

FAQ
Is Search on Shift free for residency programs? Yes, through limited time offers, Search on Shift is free for residency programs. There is currently a limited time offer in 2026 for one free year for all of your residents. Please check searchonshift.com/pricing for any current offers.
How do I get a free year for my EM interest group or residency program? Reach out to us by email at [email protected] or on Instagram at instagram.com/searchonshift for your group's free promo code. Then, use the sign up page and enter in the emails for everyone in the EMIG! It all takes <1 min!
Does it work offline in the emergency department? Yes, the notes, images, and textbook search work offline in the emergency department and are often sufficient alone to answer your question. To access websites you will need internet access.
Which resources does Search on Shift search across? We search across the best websites in Emergency Medicine, such as WikEM, EM:RAP, MDCalc, UpToDate, DynaMed and LITFL, alongside your own notes and your uploaded Tintinalli's textbook.
How much does it cost per resident? A residency program or interest group license is $100 per year, per resident. Individual plans are $9.99 per month, $99.99 per year, or $199.99 for lifetime access, and a free trial is included. See the sign up page for current offers.
Where can I download the app? On the App Store and the Google Play Store. Your residency program can also
purchase a group subscription from this website.
How do I add notes from Anki? It's easy! I designed the app so that your notes are portable, meaning you
can easily
import or export them to any other note-taking app with minimal effort.
The format is a spreadsheet CSV file.
The 1st column should contain all your notes without any headers (i.e. the first row should also be a
note).
For
Anki, I recommend using your computer and downloading one of the Anki add-ons for exporting cards to CSV. Then you
can open this CSV, make sure the text you want is in the first column, and save the CSV to your iPhone or Android
device. Open the Search on Shift app and use the Import notes button found in the Settings page, then
you're
done!
How do I upload my textbook? In the Search on Shift app, go to Settings, and follow the instructions there
for uploading your textbook. Note that PDF versions of textbooks must be purchased separately.
What if I have a feature suggestion? Awesome! Send me an email detailing your suggestion and I'll let you
know if
it's possible. In some cases, it may already be planned!
