For EM interest groups
Set it up in three steps
- Message instagram.com/searchonshift or email [email protected] and ask for your EMIG's 100% off promo code.
- Collect your members' email addresses however you normally do, then paste them all into the sign up page at once.
- Enter the promo code on the payment page. No payment needed. Each member signs in with their email and sets a password in the app.
What your members get
- One search across the EM references they are already trying to check on rotation.
- Their own notes, imported from Anki or any CSV.
- Their own textbook, uploaded once and fully searchable.
- 1600+ flashcards mapped to ABEM board exam and ITE preparation categories.
- Procedure videos, useful before a shift or a skills session.
- Something concrete to point to at your interest group fair.

Questions EMIG leads ask
How do I get a free year for my EM interest group?
Reach out to us by email at [email protected] or on Instagram at instagram.com/searchonshift for your group's 100% off promo code. No payment needed. Then, use the sign up page and enter in the emails for everyone in the EMIG! It all takes under a minute. If you'd like to renew after one year, you can simply subscribe your members at the discounted price through the same signup form, and it will not auto-renew, for your benefit.
Is there really no cost to our interest group?
Correct. There is currently a limited time offer in 2026 for one free year for your whole interest group. Please check searchonshift.com/pricing for any current offers.
Do members need to be committed to Emergency Medicine?
No. The app is built for anyone interested in Emergency Medicine, including students still deciding on a specialty and students heading into an EM rotation or sub-internship.
Does it help on an EM rotation or sub-internship?
Yes. One search covers WikEM, EM:RAP, MDCalc, UpToDate, DynaMed and LITFL at once, which is what most students are trying to check between patients.
Does it work offline in the emergency department?
Yes, the notes, images, and textbook search work offline in the emergency department and are often sufficient alone to answer your question. To access websites you will need internet access.
What happens to a member's notes after they graduate?
The member can continue using the app or simply export their notes for saving. There are automatic backups that occur while using the app, and they can also manually export these to a spreadsheet. The app was thoughtfully created in this manner so that your data goes with you.
